Dear friends and family:

As most of you know, Nancy passed into the new life on July 13th. The celebration of her life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City on Saturday, September 20th. There will be a requiem eucharist at 11:00 a.m. on that date, followed by the interment of her ashes in the Grace Memorial Garden, and by a lunch in the parish hall that will be held ca. 12:30 p.m.
Nancy specifically asked that no flowers be given in her honor, nor any recommendations concerning memorial gifts. According to her wishes, any personal tributes, eulogies, or memories of Nancy will be made during the luncheon and will not be part of the church service.

Nancy passed away July 13th ca. 8:30 pm after a tough fight with an aggressive cancer which took exactly two months from diagnosis to end her life. Cooperation with hospice led to a triumphant victory over pain as well as avoidance of two things Nancy wanted to avoid: long term nursing home care and chemotherapy treatment. The last days were tough for those close to her to be part of, but were handled magnificently by Hospice of Michigan.
She was an active, busy person all of her life, and had been a flight attendant, an office manager for an industrial gas company, and an owner/handler for 30 years showing her beloved wire or long-haired dachshunds at dog shows all over the midwest.
In these latter years she was a volunteer at Grace Episcopal Church both liturgically at worship and administratively as an office assistant.
At the end she was tended by her two children, Patrick and Hilarie, as well as her life-partner, Pete.
A memorial service and the interment of her ashes at the Grace Church garden will take place later in the year.
