Nancy Janet DuBois, 84, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her home in Traverse City. She had been a part time residnet of Traverse City since 1963 and moved here permemantly in 1979.
Nancy was born on Sunday, July 01, 1928 to the late Edward and Margaret (Sutherland) Wiggin in Detroit. She graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and then earned her teaching teagree at Eastern Michigan University .
Nancy taught deaf children at Farmington Public Schools prior to her retirement. She was a member of First Congregational Church, the Association for Education for Exceptional Children and enjoyed working at the Christian Community Center Daycare. She loved sewing, reading, traveling and needlework.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Garry) Boyer of Traverse City, Katie (Gregory) Lestan of Killdeer, IL, a daughter in law, Sandra Dubois of Maple City; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, sons, Bruce and Thomas, brother Edward Wiggin and sister in law Grace Wiggin.
The memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will begin at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 6 at First Congregational Church, The Rev. Gary Hogue officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Remembrance at First Congregational Church.
