With deep sadness, we share the passing of Nancy Landfair on June 3rd at age 76. A Michigan State University graduate and certified Music Therapist, Nancy began her career at Traverse City State Hospital and later brought joy to many through the Traverse City Area Special Ed program. Her love of music was central to her life—arranging, and performing as a cherished member of The Family Reunion and serving as President of Grand Traverse Musicale.
Nancy's creativity extended beyond music to crafting, gardening and cultivating warm, welcoming spaces. She is survived by her husband Raymond, son Adam, sister Betsey Sterling, and the many friends, students, and fellow musicians whose lives she touched with her generous heart and enduring spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UUCGT's music program in her memory.
