Obituary

Nancy Ann Perreault, 84, of Traverse City, passed away on March 20, 2026 at the Terrace at Bay Ridge in Traverse City. She was born in Detroit on November 28, 1941 to the late John and Agnes (Provost) Perreault. She was raised there and graduated from St. Anthony's High School in 1960.

While growing up Nancy preferred playing baseball and basketball to playing with dolls, "although I played with them, too". While in high school she played on the girls’ high school basketball team which made All-City in Detroit, a story she loved to share. Another story she loved to share was that she wanted a Roy Rogers gun and holster set for her First Communion but her mom nixed the idea!

Nancy worked as a customer service rep for Detroit Edison (DTE Energy) for 37 years retiring in 2000 to Traverse City to be closer to family. In Traverse City, she was a member of St Francis Catholic Church. Nancy volunteered numerous places including, Munson Medical Center, the National Cherry Festival as an Ambassador where she faithfully worked Special Kids Day for years as well as the Information Tent. She also volunteered at the Traverse City Visitor Center. Her favorite volunteer stint was annually at the Red Wings Training Camp when held in Traverse City. Nancy enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing canasta, poker, and cribbage with friends. She enjoyed cross stitching and cats, and she was also a loyal fan of her Detroit Tigers, Lions, Pistons, and Red Wings.

Before relocating to Traverse City, Nancy owned a charming cottage in Roscommon, MI, just a short distance from her brother Jack’s cottage. She truly loved spending time up north, where she could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Nancy had a deep love for her family and had a special love for the "Copper Country" where her parents were from. Many trips were made to the Keweenaw peninsula in the UP with her parents and brother and later on with her cousins.

Nancy is survived by cousins, Doug Provost, Berkley, MI, Dina Provost, Warren, MI, Dana Provost, Berkley, MI, Doug Provost, Jr, Berkley, MI, Mike Goodrich, Gaylord, MI, Sue (Becky) Rogan, Ironwood, MI, Laurie (Bob) O’Brien, Traverse City, MI, Craig (Lisa) Goodrich, South Boardman, MI, Sheryl (Joe) Elliott, Traverse City, MI, Kevin (Mary) Lizenby, Traverse City, MI, Scott (Vickie) Lizenby, Traverse City, MI, Michelle Lizenby, Ft.
