TRAVERSE CITY - Nancy Judith Pitkavish, 68, of Grawn, phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother passed away in the presence of her loving family on Sept. 20, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. She was born in Detroit on January 6, 1948 to the late Samuel and Virginia (Samoray) Sclafani.
Nancy enjoyed proofreading at her long-time job with R.L. Polk Publishing in Traverse City. She had a heart of gold and was very caring and loving for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her favorite TV show, heartland and visiting Mackinac Island.
She married the love of her life Dennis Pitkavish on December 1, 1967 in Detroit and the couple celebrated 48 years of marriage and raised 5 children together.
Nancy is survived by her husband Dennis Pitkavish; daughters, Laura (Albert) Lawson, Carmen Ennik, Maria Pitkavish, Bethany (Snap) Carsten and Kimberly (Jason) Schaub; siblings, Sam Sclafani, Phyllis Grady, Margaret Arnette, and Gerry Sclafani; 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Nancy was loved very much and it will not be the same without her warm smile and unconditional love.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Tues. Sept. 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation held one hour prior. Burial will follow at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.
