Nancy Lee Roth, 86, of Traverse City passed away Wednesday June 29, 2022 while in the care of MediLodge of Suttons Bay.
Nancy Frick was born on August 25, 1935 in Ellington, the daughter of Homer and Ethel (Robinson) Frick. She graduated from Caro High School in 1954. On December 31, 1954 Nancy was wed to Lyn Roth at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro Michigan.
In high school, she worked at the convalescent home that was owned by her parents. During her early years of marriage, Nancy was a nursing assistant at the Caro State Hospital. When Lyn became an agent with State Farm Insurance in 1963, she became his office manager. They started out in the Houghton Lake, Graying area and relocated to Traverse City the end of 1964. After 32 years in business together, they retired in 1995.
Nancy was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Caro in 1954. She has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1965. She was a past member of the Dorcas Society, Couples Club and Prime Timers at the church.
She enjoyed canasta, Red Hats Society, square dancing with friends and family card games. She was always grateful for the opportunity she and Lyn had to travel throughout the world attending State Farm conventions. After retiring, she and Lyn spent the winters in Avon Park Florida where she was active in their retirement community. She continued being a snowbird until 2017.
Nancy is survived by her children Randy of Sebring Florida, Tim (Karen) of Petoskey, Sherry of Traverse City and Jill (Carl) Case of Traverse City, grandchildren Tyler (Joe Clayton) Roth, Megan (Kevin) McCarthy, Michael (Miranda Max) Roth, Candi (Robert) French, Kristy Bremmer and Kevin (Jordan) Aeschliman, great grandchildren William, Kaleigh, Jamisen, Jasper, Bodhi, Timothy and Zachary, sisters- in-law Gerry Frick, Shirley Laethem and brother-in-law Donnie (Donna) Roth.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lyn of 58 wonderful years, sisters Mary Conley, Frances Porter, Elaine Dwyer, brothers Floyd, LJ, Clare and Wayne Frick.
Nancy will be remembered for her cooking, baking and family get togethers. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with a visitation held one hour prior at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
