Traverse City - Nancy Marie (Warman) Pihlcrantz, 85, of Traverse City passed away July 9, 2014 at Munson Medical Center.

Nancy was born on December 9, 1928 in Buffalo, NY to the late Robert B. and Mildred (Washburn) Warman.

Nancy graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with a Bachelor's degree in English in 1949.

In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed gardening, reading and volunteering in the community. She was an excellent scrabble player and enjoyed playing with friends and family. Nancy was a promoter of the arts and frequently attended events at Interlochen. She also belonged to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

Nancy is survived by her son, David Warman Pihlcrantz of California, Marcy (Jerry) Grant of Belmont, N.C., and Laura Kilbourne of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren Jeremy (Jacqueline) Grant, Matthew Grant, Allison ( Cale) Bradley, Sean Kilbourne, and Daphne Kilbourne; and great grandchildren Katelyn, Andrew, and James.

Memorial contributions in memory of Nancy may be directed to a charity of your choice.

The family will celebrate Nancy's life privately.
