Nancy Wright, 72, of Empire, passed away November 4, 2020 at Munson Medical Center with her sister by her side. Nancy was a survivor of brain cancer in 2019, but expired due to natural causes.
Nancy was born November 19, 1947 to the late Everett and June (Stiff) Wright in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Chicago and summered at Glen Lake. She attended Northwestern University in Chicago.
She was an international traveler, taken to many wonderful places by her sales job and then from her involvement with the Order of The Eastern Star where she was the Worthy Grand matron, the head of the State of Illinois.
After moving to Glen Lake full time, Nancy became involved in her community. She was a very active member in the Glen lake Women's Club and President of Zonta, as well as the Glen Lake Lions Club.
Her passion for people and a good conversation carried over in many facets in her life as well as her dedication to her businesses, and relationships with friends and families.
Nancy is survived and missed dearly by her four-legged companion and all-time side kick Jake, her sister Dr. Susan (Robert) Rife, her nephews Daniel and Christopher and many friends.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Scholarship fund of Glen lake Women's Club that Nancy was so honored to be a part of.
A special time of gathering occurred at Nancy's restaurant The Manor of Glen Lake to share stories with family and friends. She surely will be missed.
