Obituary

INTERLOCHEN — Narda Jane Hughson-Adams, 47, of Interlochen, formerly of Mesick, passed away at her home in Interlochen after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Narda was born at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City on July 11, 1963, to Jerry T. and Christeen (Kibby) McNitt. Narda entered into marriage with Michael Hughson in 1988; he preceded her in death. In 2010 Narda married Kent Adams in Traverse City.Narda graduated from Mesick High School. She went on to attend Northwestern Michigan College, then she earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.Narda founded her own business, Cemaya Windows and Interiors, where she specialized in custom window treatments and interior design. She was also a substitute teacher for TCAPS.Narda made her home in Interlochen, where she was a loving wife and mother; she took every opportunity to enjoy time with her family. A design sketch pad could always be found close to her. She loved home design, reading and gardening.Narda loved children, and her son, Lucas held a special place in her heart. She cared for her step grandchildren while their father served in Iraq.Narda is survived by her loving husband, Kent Adams, of Interlochen; her son, Lucas Hughson; mother, Christeen Crawford; brother, Eric McNitt and his wife, Susannah; her grandmother; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and step siblings; as well as other loving family members, neighbors and friends.Narda was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Hughson; her father, Jerry T. McNitt; stepfather, Robert Crawford; and her grandparents.Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Greystone Mansion, 13996 U.S. 31, Honor, 10 minutes west of Interlochen corners. The Rev.
