home. He excelled in sports, academics and being a part of the community. Nick was active in
American Legion Baseball, both playing and umpiring for the younger kids. He played soccer
and Junior Golf, was active in scouting, tennis and a member of the Grand Traverse Ski Club.

friend. Nick earned a degree in packaging from Michigan State University. Nick worked at Lou
and Harry's in East Lansing and it was there that he discovered a passion for the food service
industry. He dreamed of owning his own business. In 2005, Nick's dream came true when he
and his brother Scott bought Wares Brothers Frosty Treat. He loved taking care of his
customers. They remained owners until Nick fell ill with an autoimmune disease, Scleroderma.
