Noah Jay Corning-Hyman, 31, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2026. He was born on January 17, 1995, to Glennda Ione Corning and Kevin John Hyman.
Raised in Traverse City, Noah was a proud graduate of St. Francis High School, Class of 2013. During his time at St. Francis, he became known as the dedicated video camera operator for the football team, capturing moments from the sidelines.
From an early age, Noah was known for his remarkable intelligence and curiosity. He had a natural gift for computers, mathematics, and solving complex problems. To those who knew him best, Noah was the one everyone called when a computer needed fixing, or technology wasn't cooperating. He was simply "the tech guy," always willing to lend a hand and share his knowledge.
Noah's passion for technology led him to pursue a career in IT, where he enjoyed doing what he knew best. Throughout his career, he worked at Roy's General Store, Munson Medical Center, and most recently with the USDA Forest Service. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed watching anime, a hobby that brought him enjoyment throughout the years. Lately, he also enjoyed watching funny videos with his father, enjoyable moments they shared together.
Noah was blessed with lifelong friendships that began in preschool and remained strong throughout his life. He especially cherished the friendships he shared with Lance and Blase Masserant, Maddie and Zach Popp, and Nalee Riddell. Whether gathering around a board game, playing video games, sharing laughs, or simply spending time together, Noah treasured every moment with those he loved.
Noah wasn't someone who asked for much. He preferred to figure things out on his own, but he never hesitated to help someone else when they needed him. Quiet, intelligent, and quick with his humor around those he loved, Noah had a heart of gold that showed through his actions more than his words. He was known for being a loyal friend, a devoted son, and a loving brother.
Family was important to Noah, even though, like many families, the journey was not always easy. Following the loss of his mother three years ago, Noah was fortunate to be surrounded by love and support from family and friends. Through life's challenges, he carried so much of his mother's kindness and faith close to his heart, finding comfort and strength in his relationship with God. Those who knew him best saw that same gentle compassion reflected in the way he cared for others.
Noah was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Glennda Ione Corning. He is survived by his loving father, Kevin John Hyman; his sister, Mary Ingrid Corning-Hyman; his extended family and countless lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though his time with us was far too short, memories of his sense of humor, brilliant mind, and gentle heart will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
A gathering to celebrate Noah's life will be held on August 15, 2026, at Noah's home in Kingsley, Michigan. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming weeks.
