Noble Dexter Chappel

LAKE ANN - Noble Dexter Chappel, 70, of Lake Ann, went to his heavenly home on April 15, 2016. He was born on July 7, 1945 in Kingsley, to the late Adam and Sara Emily (Olds) Chappel and was one of many siblings, and half-siblings.

He graduated from Traverse Central High School where he met and later married Nancy Elaine Getchel on June 18, 1966 in Traverse City.

Noble worked as a psychiatric attendant at the Traverse City State Psychiatric Hospital and also worked in the building construction trade. His passion was woodworking, making cradles, highchairs, beds and beautiful handcrafted pieces of work. He also loved hunting, fishing, camping and gardening, growing fruits and berries for his canned jams.

He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter, Brenda (Carl Jr.) Cox; son Scott (Vicki) Chappel; grand children, Stephanie Trowbridge, Sean Townsend, Courtney Rosinski and Kyle Loree; and great grandson, Ender Noble Bowman.

A celebration of life event will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Lake Ann United Methodist.
