Norman Joseph Durkin

TRAVERSE CITY — Norman Joseph Durkin, 85, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015.
Norman was born in Detroit to the late William and Rose (Vizina) Durkin. He married Jean M. Myers in Detroit on Sept. 23, 1950.
Norman honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1988 as a service engineer.
Surviving Norman is his wife, Jean, of 65 years; children, Susan (Jeffrey) Alexander, Brian Durkin, daughter-in-law Leigh Durkin; grandchildren, Sarah, Jeffrey, Steven, Jamie, Jeanne, Robert, and Erika; six great-grandchildren, sister Judith (Michael) Franklin and many other loving family members and friends.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, son Patrick, siblings William Durkin and Dorothy Baxtresser.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
