Obituary

Pamela Countryman (Spitza) of Traverse City passed away on July 11, 2025, two days shy of her 67th birthday.

Pam was born July 13, 1958 at Meadowbrook Hospital in Bellaire, Michigan, the daughter of James and Joyce (Lanning) Spitza. Pam grew up in Custer Township, outside of Mancelona, where she attended the local public school. Pam was a licensed cosmetologist and a dedicated homemaker. In April 1994, Pam married Kelly Countryman, with whom she had two children. While Pam and Kelly parted ways in 2004, she will be greatly missed by him and his family.

She loved listening to her Johnny Cash songs and other music, and spending time with family and friends. She spoiled her dog, Snooty, with the best treats and food that she could get him. Pam could brighten almost any situation and brought happiness to countless people that encountered her throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by many.

Pam is survived by her two sisters, Connie Raby (of Bellaire) and Debbie Spitza (of Kalkaska), two children, Howard Countryman (of Royal Oak) and Hannah Countryman (of Bellaire), former husband Kelly Countryman (of Bellaire), as well as several cousins, nieces and a nephew. Pam was predeceased by her mother Joyce in 2001, and her father Jim in 2013.

Per Pam's wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes spread in a private ceremony attended by close family. Memorial contributions may be given to Cherryland Humane Society.
