Pastor Orson Dwight Deemer, age 59, of Lake Ann, formerly of Leroy, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Orson was born on August 31, 1960 in Lansing, Michigan to Denziel and Gaylee (Hicks) Deemer. He married the love of his life Cindy Holley on July 28, 1984 in Lansing. Orson heard the calling of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and became a Minister. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Ministry from Bartlesville Wesleyan College in Oklahoma. He was the Pastor of Dighton Wesleyan Church for over 25 years. He most recently served the Lord at Woodside Wesleyan Church in Lake Ann. He had a special place in his heart for children's ministry. He was a people person and loved his church family. In his spare time, Orson enjoyed counted cross-stitch, playing his violin with his church family and going to his favorite spot, Otter Creek Beach on Lake Michigan.
Orson is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cindy and his son, Sam Deemer. Also surviving are his parents, Denziel and Gaylee Deemer, a brother, Chris (Leah) Deemer, a sister; Debbie (Paul) Bean and a brother-in-law, David Wright.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Wright.
Friends are welcome to visit with Orson's family at a social distancing walk through visitation, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020 in the Garden of the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684.
