Patricia Irene Burdo (Kirkorowicz), 76, of Rapid City, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025.

Born on March 26, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, homemaker, and caregiver. She dedicated her life to her family, always placing their needs above her own and filling their lives with warmth, humor, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her husband, Richard M. Burdo; her children, Julie A. (Jack) Linderman and Timothy R. Burdo; and her cherished grandchildren, Kaitlynn R. Barber, Brooklynn E. Barber, Jacqulynn A. Barber, and Zoey Burdo.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred F. and Irene M. Kirkorowicz (Barczyk) of Center Line, MI; her infant sister, Elene; and her beloved grandson, William H. Barber Jr.

A passionate gardener and cat lover, Patricia brought life and color to everything she touched. She was a little spitfire, never shy about speaking her mind, and always ready with a strong opinion and a fierce sense of loyalty to those she loved.

After a long battle with diabetes and her newest fight with breast cancer, Patricia is now finally free. In the end, she gave it her all to fight to see another day, but her body could not keep up with her spirit.

Her strength, love, and voice will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We love you Nanz.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, Michigan. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Patricia's life. A reception after the burial at Milton Township Cemetery will be at the John Dining Hall at Kewadin Indian Mission Church. Anyone is welcome.
