.WILLIAMSBURG - Patricia "Pat" Alice Hippensteel, 79, of Williamsburg, passed away on May 23, 2015, at her home. Pat was born March 25, 1936, to A.L. and Edna (Harris) Jackson. She was very active in her church, past president of United Methodist Women and present president of Church Women United. She was an avid reader and wrote poetry for many family and church functions. She loved to play board games with both her children and grandchildren. She was both a shy and retiring lady, but when the occasion arose, was very adept with the English language and she was a very spiritual person.
She is survived by sons: Ronald (Cathy) Johnson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Gregory Johnson of the family home, Steve Johnson of Austin, Texas; Jerry Johnson of Sterling Heights; Christian Hippensteel of Traverse City; and one daughter, Laura Richards of Traverse City; grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Susan Moore, Jennifer Johnson, Christina Gallagher and Jennifer Johnson, Garrett Richards, Caleb, Hunter, Haleigh Hippensteel; step-children, Cindy (Geo) Desha, Cathy Halcin, Sandy and John Stout; step-grandchildren, Dennis Maddox, Tremain (Sara) Maddox, April Pierce, Anna Sauder, David Nickerson; step-great-grandchildren, Brogan, Harper, Caroline, and Landon; brother, James H. Jackson (Marge) of Wyoming; sister, Doris Gilmore of Hagertown and Suzanne McAtee of Traverse City.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Ken Johnson and C.L. Hippensteel; one son, Samuel Johnson; one sister, Mary Louise Hall; one brother, Francis Jackson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at the Central United Methodist Church, with visitation held one hour prior. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
