Patricia Jean Hutchins, age 80, of Traverse City, went to sleep in Jesus on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Pat Hutchins was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She met her husband, David, while attending the University of Tennessee. The couple welcomed their two sons in Jackson, Mississippi, while Dave was in medical school at the University of Mississippi. After living in Vermont, Michigan, and Arkansas, they eventually settled in Traverse City to enjoy their retirement years near their children and grandchildren. Pat worked as a commercial realtor and tax preparer, and in her spare time she devoted herself to volunteering at the Traverse City Seventh-day Adventist Church. She also had a heartfelt mission to reach out to anyone she felt could use a friend.

Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years, David "Hutch" Hutchins; sons, Brian Hutchins (Deanna), Michael Hutchins (Jill Parker); grandchildren, Sydney Laing (Travis), Natalie Hutchins; sister-in-law, Penny Meek; brothers-in-law, Jim Hutchins, John Hutchins (Pam), Steve Hutchins (Laura), Mike Hutchins (Glenda); and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Eunice (Fry) Meek; and brothers, Hank Meek, and Scott Meek.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Traverse City Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2055 4 Mile Road N., Traverse City. Family will welcome visitors an hour prior to the service starting at 1:30 p.m. A lunch at the church will follow the service.
