Obituary

Patricia "Patti" Gayle Robinson, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on September 30th, 2026. She was 72 years old.

Patti was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on February 10th, 1954 and lit up every room she entered. She graduated from Battle Creek Central and Kellogg Community College where she met her beloved husband of 51 years, Ron. She enjoyed a full and active life, saw many concerts for her favorite artists like Jimmy Buffett, Pink Floyd, and the Eagles, was an avid Red Wings hockey fan, and even attended games 4 and 5 of the Tigers 1984 World Series championship.

Patti and Ron moved to northern Michigan in 1976 and she adored being outdoors. She especially loved Lake Michigan and stargazing. She was a prolific vegetable and flower gardener, tirelessly preserving her garden bounty every fall and could always be trusted to produce a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies.

Patti worked as a medical laboratory technician, fitness instructor, and drapery seamstress, but her greatest joy and purpose was being a mom and grandma. She was deeply caring, thoughtful, protective, and just the right amount intentionally embarrassing. After retirement she treasured her time together with family at their "beach house" on Sleeping Bear Bay and their "woods house" of 40 years in Elmwood Township.

She is survived by her husband, Ron, her two daughters, Casey (Mitch) Edmondson and Kelley Robinson (Kyle Doherty), her three grandchildren Parker, Emery, and Reese who loved their Grandma Beach, her sister JoAnne Fillwock, brother Bill (Dalia) Roddy, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lyn Robinson, Gordy (Merry) Robinson, Lois (Randy) Frantz, Diane Roddy, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Cleaburn and Ruth (Kelley) Roddy, her brother Bob Roddy, brother-in-law Jim Fillwock, parents-in-law Grant and Carolyn Robinson, sister-in-law Patty Robinson, and her two German shepherds Timber and Meadow.

A celebration of life is being planned and details will be shared at a later time. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Patti by spending some time in nature with the people and pets you love. Memorial contributions may be given to the Leelanau Conservancy and the Women's Resource Center.
