Patricia Ann Reid, 61, of Interlochen, passed away on Sunday, May 17 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Pat was born on October 23, 1953 in Dearborn, Michigan to her parents, the late Robert and Mary Lou (Esper) Besneatte. She married Rick Reid on April 20, 1979 in Howell and spent many years in the area as a homemaker, volunteer at Hidden Springs Christian School and active community member.

Upon moving to the Grand Traverse area in 2003, Pat developed a network of friends through her employment at Macy's, Northwestern Bank and Top Drawer Resale. Always busy and extremely organized, Pat found great joy in doing for others. She surrounded herself with family and fun! Baking, crafting, traveling with her sisters and spending time with her large family at Duck Lake were just a few of her passions. "Devoted mother, loving grandmother and special aunt" only begin to describe our Pat. She had a zest for life that was as contagious as her laugh. Pat was a funky dancer who loved to "get down with her bad self." Never losing her sense of humor, Pat was sweet and sassy throughout her life. She will be missed when we rake leaves in the fall; play cards and games in the winter; put the boat in every spring and dance on the patio until the wee hours of hot summer nights.

Pat is survived by her caring husband, Rick; son Erik (Jenni) Reid; granddaughters Riley and Keira Reid; sisters Joan Besneatte, Sue Nanasi, Ann Wood, Kim (Michael) Pankow, Mary Lazic, Katie (Richard) Bradley; brother, John (Susan) Besneatte, many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Kathy Barker.

Pat was preceded in death by her loving parents; dear stepfather Jack Henige; brother, Bob; and most recently her son, Dustin Reid, in October 2014.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Friday, May 22 at 11:30 A.M. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, with visitation held one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
