Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Lou Wolf, 91, was reunited in Heaven with her husband of 46 years, Robert Lee Wolf, on Sunday, February 16th, 2020.

Pat was born in Traverse City on March 21, 1928, to Frank Philip and Frances Mae (Swaney) Weatherholt. She was a lifelong resident of Old Mission Peninsula and was proud to be a member of a founding family (Swaney) of the area. She was raised on the family farm and later built a home on the farm where she lived her remaining years.

She attended the original two-room Old Mission School before going on to graduate from St. Francis High School in 1946. After high school she continued her studies at Nazareth College near Kalamazoo and Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. Pat later worked at the First Peoples Bank on the corner of Front & Cass Street in Traverse City and worked many years as a bookkeeper for Kroupa's, Inc. and Gray & Company, which were both cherry processing receiving stations.

She was an avid fan of her alma mater, Traverse City St. Francis, and was a devout follower of the basketball and football teams. Her favorite sporting events were always those that featured her children and grandchildren. Pat was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a charter member of the St. Joseph's Guild. She was also a long-time member of the Old Mission Women's Club serving as secretary and treasurer at times. She often visited her dear friend Nancy Rushmore at the family home now known as The Dougherty-Rushmore Mission House at Old Mission. By far, her greatest passion was family. She loved to surround herself with family, whether it was immediate family gatherings for holidays or special occasions, or attending all reunions and funerals she could so she could be near those she loved. Whether on the beach, in her living room, or on the phone she loved to talk, visit, and tell stories of growing up on the Old Mission Peninsula to share family history with all she loved. She was surrounded by family even during her final hours.

Pat was engaged December of 1950, then wed to Robert Lee Wolf, Monday, May 14, 1951 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Bob went on a year-long tour of duty in Korea, serving in the United States Army. Upon his return, the couple started a family.

Pat will be missed by her children Gregory (Cheryl) Wolf, Michele (Larry) Morey, Barbara (Jim) Gauthier, Colleen (Steve) Morgan, and Jenifer (Chuck) Avery; grandchildren Robert (Megan) Wolf, Timothy (Colleen) Wolf, Ryan (Adrienne) Morey, Daniele (Mike) Okma, Melissa (Cory Jr.) Dean, Jenifer (Tim) Zywicki, Jonathan (Sarah) Morgan, Hayley Avery, and Collin Avery (fiancé Megan Hammond), and great grandchildren Aiden, Cameron, Danny, Josie, Gwennie, Camilla, Evelyn, Oliver, Ruby, Gabe, Neilee, Tripp, Scarlett, Piper, Mitchell, Alexander, Dylan, Cayden and Nathan.

She is also survived by brother Philip Weatherholt; sister Joyce (John) Culver; brother-in-law Gene Donoghue; sisters-in-law Ann (Willie) Lyon and Mary Lou Cooledge.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters Elaine (Oscar) Thomas, Jean (Jerry) Gleason, and Muriel Donoghue; sister-in-law Marge Weatherholt; brother-in-laws Richard (Ruth) Wolf, Rex (Ann) Bixby, and Ken Cooledge; niece Mary Ann Avery; and nephews Patrick Culver, Gerry and Tom Thomas, Mark Donoghue and Matt Weatherholt.
