Patrick James Gorman

Patrick Gorman aka "The Jacks Guy" of Traverse City, Michigan formerly of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021.

He's the son of Thomas James Gorman and Lynn Fricke. Born in Aberdeen, Washington, Home of Nirvana. He moved to Traverse City, Michigan where his love of music continued to grow. Patrick was a self-taught guitar enthusiast who enjoyed going to concerts, playing music with friends and destressing by picking up either an electric or acoustic guitar at the end of the night. It was in his early 20s he started work at Jack's Market and was taken under the owner's wing and given an education on fine wines and spirits. In 2005, he and his mother purchased Jack's Market. He became an authority and valuable resource to locals earning him the nickname "The Jacks Guy."

Patrick is survived by both his parents; his sister Amy Gorman-Dettwiler; brother-in-law Josh Dettwiler; niece Rylie Dettwiler; nephew Graysen Dettwiler; his beloved four-legged child Gus; and many loved family members in Washington State.

There will be a celebration of Patrick's life at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684. The family will be welcoming everyone during visitation one-hour prior to the celebration.

In respect to Patrick and how he lived his life, those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to buy a record, attend a concert or take your loved ones to a nice meal and enjoy one another's company. Family and friends spending time together meant the world to Patrick.
