Patrick Blaine Kildee, 71, passed away from extensive burns due to a catastrophic fire at his home in Truth or Consequences, NM on October 10, 2019. He was the son of the late William and Ginny Kildee and Ron and Jane (Albright) Buller.
Patrick attended St. Francis Schools in Traverse City, graduating in 1966. He then attended NMC before being drafted in the Army where he served honorably in Germany.
He was an extremely talented textile artist having several of his pieces displayed in museums throughout the United States. He was a nature enthusiast and found beauty in every corner of the world. He owned a motel/gas station in Cedar River and then moved back down to Traverse City with his family and worked for Century, INC until he retired.
He was very active in AA for over 33 years and loved sharing "his story" at meetings hoping that he could help someone find their inner peace he found through sobriety.
He had a sharp mind and quick wit and political discussions were his "top subjects". When it came to sports he was an avid and loyal Golden State Warriors fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Kildee of Salt Lake City, Utah and a son Sean Kildee of Appleton, Wisconsin; siblings Susie (Bill) Janis, Lisa (Tim) Lempke, William T. Kildee, Sandi (Jon) Lindstrom, Jill (Mark) Shattuck, Jody (Matt) Madion all of Traverse City and other step brothers and sisters and several loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held at Reynolds Jonkhoff on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will follow also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.
Interment will take place at a later date at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
