Patrick "Pat" A. Mahar, 57, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Medilodge of Grand Traverse. Pat was born on February 13, 1964 in Charlotte, Michigan to the late Thomas and Patsy (Firestone) Mahar. He married the love of his life Carol Ann Beaulieu on October 7, 2000 in Alpena, Michigan. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2018.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce. Pat was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. In his spare time, Pat was a HAM radio operator, he enjoyed going fishing with his friends, gardening and woodworking. Above all, spending time with his grandchildren and family was his greatest joy.
Pat is survived by a daughter and a son; Malissa Mahar and Joseph Mahar, his four grandchildren; Tyler Cowan, Annah Cowan, Jaxson Mahar and Joslynne Mahar. Also surviving are four sisters and a brother; Kathy (Bill) Smith, Marilyn (Curt) Crow, Annette (Dave) Andres, Karen (Derek) Botfield and Matt (Ashley) Mahar as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Mahar, a grandson, Devon Cowan, an infant sister, Barbara Jean Mahar and an infant brother, Thomas A. Mahar and many more.
Friends are welcome to visit with Pat's family from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 630 S. West Silver Lake Rd., Traverse City, MI 49685. The family will pray the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, June 25, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Cotter will officiate. Rite of Committal will be in Oakwood Diocesan Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Airforce, Cherryland V.F.W. post 2780 and American Legion post 35.
