Paul Anthony Hanell

December 9, 1974 — May 8, 2022

Paul Anthony Hanell, 47, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly at his home.
Paul was born on December 9, 1974, to John Anthony and Patricia Ellen (Ernst) Hanell. He grew up alongside his sisters MaryAnn and Jacqueline.
Paul was a gifted builder who took great pride in his work. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors. Whether it was fishing, hunting, camping or dirt biking, he was always up for adventure. He also had a soft spot in his heart for animals and treasured his six dogs, Basil, Milo, Bitsy, Dahlia, Toby and Loki. Music was a big part of Paul's life. He was an excellent drummer and was a member of the band Liquor Box and several other bands. He was strong and stubborn, but loved by so many. He will be greatly missed.
Paul was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Paul is survived by his mother Patty; sisters; children Cody, Arial, Dalton, Oliver, Ellianna, Magdalene, Brianna, Shelby and Ethan; grandchildren Kiya, Lacey, Axel, Brynlee and Zeno; his girlfriend Tammy, and many other family members and friends.
Mass will be held on Saturday May 28, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church at 11 am with visitation beginning one hour prior.
