Peggy Ann McClure, 94, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Orchard Creek Assisted Living. Peggy was born on December 16, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late George and Edna (Marshall) Bridges.
She attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne and graduated from Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois and earned a Master's Degree from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
The greater part of her life was spent in Peoria, Illinois, where she taught school, retiring in 1990. While living in Peoria, Peggy was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.
She married David Farquhar in 1955 and they had a daughter, Catherine. David died in 1958. She later, married Norman McClure in 1988. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Peggy moved to the Traverse City area in 2005 and since then she has attended Grace Episcopal Church.
Peggy is survived by her, daughter, Catherine (Patrick) Royer and two grandsons, Ian Royer and Julien Royer. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Bill DeGraff, Deborah DeGraff, Steve Bridges, Chris Bridges, Beverly Bridges, Lorna Bridges, Allison Bridges, Hilary Bridges and Tyler Bridges.
Besides her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Bridges and a sister, Avel DeGraff.
A memorial service honoring Peggy will take place at a later date.
