Peter J. Chapman, 73, of Traverse City, passed away May, 8 2022.

Peter was born in London, England, May 25, 1948, son to the late Charles and Helena Chapman.
By trade, Peter was an architect, which in his early years took him all over the world. He moved to the U.S. in 1994, and became a naturalized citizen in 1997. His career spanned several years as a design engineer with General Motors. Following retirement, he and his wife, Ann, moved to Traverse city in 2004. He was a lover of the outdoors, enjoying virtually any activity, swimming, fishing, camping and hiking. He also enjoyed collecting vintage firearms.

Peter leaves behind his wife Ann (formerly Walls); children Mellissa Speed, Stefan Chapman, Danielle (Ben Franklin) Chapman; grandchildren Lucy Wooten, Marc, Matthew, Luke and Zoe Speed, and Lily & Jack Franklin; 8 great-grandchildren, all who reside in England, and niece Sarah Grey.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister Joan Grey.

A celebration of life and reception will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Chapman Family Home, 6177 Lillian Lane, Traverse City, Michigan 49685. Please RSVP by calling
