Peter Shawn Wicksall, 64, a native of Traverse City, passed away at home on February 14, 2026. He was born on March 13, 1961, to Bill and Zetta Wicksall.
Peter grew up in the Boardman Valley with his five siblings, building his forever home just two miles down the road. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1979 and worked at Wicksall Dist., Inc. for 38 years, delivering beer. Along the way, Peter maintained great friendships; the late Jeff Ankerson was one of his motorcycle riding companions. Many Snowmobile trips to the U.P. over the years with a great group of guys: Dan, Bryan, Chuck, and many more. For 40 years, there was also "male bonding night," as it was called, of tinkering on classic cars at Red Bigelow's garage. A lifetime of childhood friends that were still a large presence today, Ted Pahl, Phil Schied, Al Carpenter, John Eyman, Mark Ray, Pierre Flory and so many more. After retirement he especially enjoyed the Wednesday morning coffee group, and afterwords spending time with his brothers at the target range which gave him immense joy.
Peter married Cindy Blair on January 30, 1988, and was a very loving husband for 38 years. She will be forever grateful for the fierce way he loved her. They have three children, Hollie Sue, Loren Kay, and Kenton Joseph. Peter taught his children well, how to be compassionate and hardworking, but he also taught them "cartoon behavior," which at times drove their mother crazy!
Peter is survived by his wife, Cindy, and children, Hollie Sue (Andy), Loren (TK), and Kenton. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jackson, Alyssa, Abbey, and Ronny, his five siblings Timothy (Marti), Suzette Hoxie, Sally Downer, Patrick (Jeanne), and Bridgete (Frank) Williams, his brother-in-law Timothy (Ernie) Blair, nieces and nephews Godson- Jud, Abe, Adam, Nicholas, Ian, Kamron, Vera, Molly, Michelle, and Rachel and special Uncle George (Nancy) Blair.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Zetta, and brothers-in-law, Robert Hoxie and Dave Downer.
