Philip Robert Baumann

Philip Robert Baumann, 76, of Interlochen, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at his home. Phil was born on June 26, 1946 in Fremont, Ohio to the late William and Dorothy (Martin) Baumann. He married the love of his life Kelly Bishop on August 14, 1992 in Traverse City.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Phil has lived in the area since 1973. He had been employed, as a journeyman tool and die maker, for Tower Automotive, retiring in 2009 after over 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, kayaking and camping. Above all, spending time with his family was his greatest joy.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kelly, three sons and four daughters; Jeremy (Rachel) Kreiser, Kari (Francis) Majszak, Kurtis Kreiser, Josh (Julie) Baumann, Casey Baumann, Brooke Baumann and Breanne (Will) Kelderhouse. Also surviving are grandchildren; Evelyn, Amelia, Agnes, Jacob, Jessica and Jordan, as well as a brother, Richard (Billi) Baumann and a sister, Judy Baumann. He has many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Teresa Pickard and a nephew, Rob Geiger.

Friends are welcome to visit with Phil's family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Traverse City, Michigan 49684.

A memorial service honoring Philip will take place at 3:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the funeral home. Pastor Jake Thomas will officiate.
