Phyllis Norine Murdock, 90, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at her home at Bay Ridge Assisted Living Center in Traverse City.

Phyllis was born on Wednesday, March 27, 1929 to the late Evart and Ruby (Russell) Bogart in Big Rapids. She graduated from Morley High School in 1947, where she was the Vice President of her senior class and was also the Homecoming Queen that same year. She married Edgar Alfred Murdock on September 3, 1949 in Big Rapids, and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1991.

In years past, Phyllis had lived in Lexington, South Carolina and lived for many years in Grand Haven. Having moved to Traverse City, it was here that she enjoyed being involved at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, crafts, playing cards, knitting and crocheting. Her family will always remember her caring and always being there. She will be missed.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Michael (Sue) of Brighton, Gerald (Kimberly) of St. Charles, MO, Carol (John) Cornell of Prescott Valley, AZ, Steven (John Denissen) of Long Beach, CA and David (Kathy) Murdock of Traverse City. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Gary, Alicia, Emily, Christopher, Kate and Jill. Phyllis is survived by one sister, Donna. Her other siblings preceded her in death.

At her request, family services will be held.
