Phyllis Jean Nottke

Phyllis Jean Nottke, 88, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Munson Medical Center. Phyllis was born on February 17, 1927 in Traverse City. She was married to Robert Nottke on December 15, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2013. Phyllis worked very closely with Bob, she was the office manager for Robert Nottke Trucking.

Phyllis was a member of the Catholic faith. She belonged to the Eagle's Ladies Auxiliary and played in many bowling leagues over the years. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, BINGO and going to the casino. Phyllis and Bob spent 21 winters in sunny Florida before returning in 2008 as year around residents of Traverse City. Above all spending time with family and friends was Phyllis' greatest joy.

Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Doug) Rudy of Scottsdale, AZ, a son, Rick (Loan) Nottke of Traverse City, MI, two sisters; Patricia Knight and Ritha Corbin. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Barns.

A funeral service honoring Phyllis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, with visiting starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Deacon Rene Hoenscheid will officiate. A luncheon immediately following the service will be held at Sleder's Family Tavern.
