Phyllis A. Peacock

Phyllis A. Peacock, 100, of Jenison and formerly of Traverse City, passed away on January 6, 2023.

Phyllis was born on December 18, 1922, in Grand Haven MI, to the late Frederick J. and Gertrude (Van Dongen) Rescorla. She married the late Richard E. Peacock on January 20, 1945, also in Grand Haven, MI.

Phyllis graduated from Western Michigan University and taught school in Muskegon until she started her family. She was a devoted homemaker – raising four wonderful children – a cross-country skier into her late 80s, and an avid bridge player. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, sang in the Sanctuary Choir, and participated in several of the church's service groups.

Phyllis was so happy to make it to the age of 100. What an accomplishment!

Surviving Phyllis are her children, Thomas (Jill) Peacock of Pennsylvania, Barbara (Richard) LaFever of Jenison, Mary Jo Richter of East Jordan, Douglas (Susan) Peacock of North Carolina; grandchildren, Christopher Peacock, Hannah Peacock, Eric (Hallie) LaFever, Lisa (Kevin) Dunson, Taylor (Matt) Kryzak, Connor (Justice) Peacock; great grandchildren, Alicia (Mike), Whiteford, John Richards, Ryan Peacock, Karlee, Karah & Katelynn Dunson, Layla Fields, Willa Grae LaFever, Clayton Kryzak; one great-great grandchild, Lexie Whiteford; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and her six brothers.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11 am at the Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 am.
