TRAVERSE CITY — Randal Scot Hart, 49, of Traverse City, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011. Randal was born on Thursday, May 11, 1961, in Sault Saint Marie, Mich., but shortly after relocated to Traverse City, where he was a lifelong resident. Randal served his country with the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany. For eight years Randal worked maintenance at Birchwood Nursing Center, where he made many friends and companions. Randal loved to hit the road on his motorcycle. He made photography a hobby of his and enjoyed mushroom picking, hunting and fishing as well. Randal loved his three cats; to him, they were his life. During the Cherry Festival he could be found camping in the backyard to watch the fireworks. Randal thoroughly enjoyed cooking and was known for hosting a Christmas Eve dinner party for his friends. Randal is survived by his mother, Arlene Hart, of Traverse City; aunt, Janice Maull, of Traverse City, who was like a second mother to Randal; uncle, Raymond Hart Jr., of Traverse City; many cousins; and many wonderful friends. Randal was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond Hart Sr. and Gladys Hart; uncle, Vern Hart; uncle, Glen Maull; and cousin, Tom Maull.A memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Lyle Deeren will officiate. A luncheon will be held at 12:30 .p.m at the VFW Hall at 3000 Veterans Drive, Traverse City. Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
