Raymond "Ray" Augenstein

Raymond L. Augenstein, 82, of Traverse City (formerly of Harrison, MI), went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 24, 2023. Ray was born on April 5, 1941 to the late Arthur and Grace (English) Eyestone. Ray was united in marriage to Vera Pike on March 4, 2023.
Ray proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He received his Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Michigan in 2010. Ray was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God and was a faithful servant to his Lord. He held high regard in raising his family in the church and spent much time in serving his community faithfully.
He is survived by his wife Vera, his children; Daniel (Mary) Schneider, David (Lynette) Schneider, Stephen (Gloria) Augenstein, Debra (David) Shiffer, Dawn Nicewander, Dana (Randy) Shepherd and Darcia (Joe) Little, as well as over 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Kelly Eyestone and June Shaffer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Janice Ruth Augenstein and his siblings William Eyestone and Patrick Eyestone.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday September 23, 2023 at 11:00am at the Revival Center Church in Cadillac, MI.
