Raymond "Ray" C. Feriend, 82, of Grawn, passed away at his home on January, 22, 2015. Ray was born on October 13, 1932, in Kingsley, to his parents the late Charles C.and Ida M. (Newmarch) Feriend.

He honorably served our country in the United States Army, in Korea from 1953 to 1954, and was a Life Member of Cherryland VFW Post 2780.

Ray married Diane L. Schneider on December 28, 1963, in Traverse City; together, they raised three sons and celebrated 51 years of marriage.

He worked in the area most of his life as a Certified Master Auto Mechanic and was respected and appreciated by many that knew him for his talented automotive work. He enjoyed baking, bowling, WWF Wrestling and the Tigers.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; sons, Charles Feriend of Tampa FL.; Thomas Feriend, of Traverse City; Donald (Heather) Feriend, of Traverse City; grandchildren, Tim, Elizabeth, Nicole, D J; great grandson, Karson; sisters, Irene Arbogast of Spring Lake, MI; Doris Clark of Chico CA; and many brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David, Lloyd "Pat" and Howard; and infant daughter, Carol (1959).

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wed. January 28, at the Funeral Home, with vistitation held one hour prior.
