Reba Adaline Oxley

Traverse City - Reba Adaline Oxley, 84, of Traverse City passed away September 3, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.

Adaline was born on March 4, 1933 in Mt. Carmel, Ill to the late Elbert E. and Hazel A. (Clinton) Dougherty.

On June 10, 1956 Adaline married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" A. Oxley.

Adaline was a speech therapist for 28 years in the Glen Ellyn School District in Illinois. After retiring in 1989, she and Chuck moved to Traverse City to be near family. Together they were members of the Presbyterian Church. She was also a devoted member of P.E.O. and the National Sigma Sigma Sigma. In her spare time she loved to garden.

Adaline was preceded in death by her beloved husband Chuck, her oldest son C.J. Oxley and her brothers Joe and Elbert Jr. Dougherty.

Adaline is survived by her son, Roger (Sandie) Oxley of Louisville, KY. Her memory lives on with her six grandchildren; Sarah and Matt Oxley of Traverse City, JD (Jennifer), Justin (Kim), and Bricker Oxley, and Brittany Barnes of Louisville, KY.; and four Great Grandchildren.

A Visitation will take place October 21, 2017 from 1-3pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

Her final resting place will be at Linwood Cemetery with her husband.
