Reva H. Thomas, 78, of Traverse City passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Reva was born on April 28, 1937, in Acme Township to the late Frank and Susanna (Robbins) Tooley.
She was married to Orville R. Thomas on June 26, 1971, in Three Rivers, Michigan. Before retiring, Reva had been employed as a waitress by several establishments in the area among other jobs, her favorite work memories were working with her sister, Ellen, at the Bay View Inn. She was a current member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the A.M.L. Club and a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She enjoyed crafts, baking, yard sales, and could always be found working on a picture puzzle. Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest joy. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Reva is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Orville, seven children; Sherrie (John) Kik, Mark (Christine) Thomas, Christine (Tom) Baldwin, Julie (Mark) Jarema, Sarah Goodrich, CaSandra (Gary) Aisthorpe, Steve (Kerry) McPherson, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Lillian (Jim) Brown, a brother, Martin (Ann) Tooley, a brother-in-law, Bruce (Jackie) Thomas and a sister-in-law, Bobbie Thomas. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Reva was preceded in death by two sisters; Genevieve Eckerdt and Ellen Zarafonitis, a brother, Frank Tooley, a nephew, John Eckerdt and two great-grandchildren; Ryan Kik and Sharon-Ann Kik.
Reva's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Munson Home Care, Munson Hospice and Chronic Care Management for their loving care of Reva.
In accordance with Reva's wishes cremation has taken place, a graveside committal service announcement to appear in the Record-Eagle at a later date.
