Richard Lake Clark, 72 of Traverse City passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born on April 15, 1947 in Detroit, MI to the late William and Yvonne (Strawbridge) Clark. He married the late Cheryl Thompson on October 20, 1989.

In his younger years he had all kinds of unique jobs. He enjoyed gardening, pocket electronic games, watching the Detroit Tigers and spending time with his family. He was diagnosed with MS at the tender age of 17 and he never once complained or felt sorry for himself. Fondly, he will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and love for his family.

Surviving Richard are his children Roger Clark and Rebecca (Ron) Couturier, several grandchildren, special dog Ernie and many other loving family members and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy, beloved wife Cheryl and several special dogs.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 1pm until 3pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Acacia Park Cemetery by his parents on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the MS Society.
