Richard Goodrich

With profound respect and solemnity, we announce the passing of Richard Goodrich, who at the age of 72, completed his earthly journey on March 26, 2024, in Alden, Michigan.

Born on May 10, 1951, in Traverse City, Richard was a steadfast patriot, serving with honor as a Communications Specialist in the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, Richard channeled his discipline and precision into the craft of carpentry. As a Finish Wood Worker, he was renowned for his exceptional skill and his ability to imbue warmth and character into each piece he created.
Richard's enduring legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Lona Goodrich; his daughter, Rachel Goodrich Gillissie, and her husband, Patrick; his grandchildren, Dina and husband Kyle, Karrissa (Tristen), and Austin; and his great-grandchildren, Mathew, Grayson, Kinslee, and Bennett. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Goodrich, and his brother, Tom.

The Goodrich family will honor Richard's memory in a private ceremony on Saturday, March 30th. They kindly request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the uswardogs.org that reflects Richard's spirit of generosity and community and his unwavering love for dogs.

We hold Richard in cherished memory for his unwavering love for his family, his commendable service to his country, and his passion for his craft. His life was a testament to the virtues of dedication, integrity and love. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a beacon of inspiration and comfort to all who knew him.
