Traverse City - Richard "Rick" Joseph Eyman, 58, of Williamsburg, formerly of Pontiac, MI, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Rick was born on August 19, 1954, in Pontiac. MI, to the late Richard and Shirley (Mead) Eyman.
Rick was married to Paula Sue Schafer on July 8, 2000, during the Cherry Festival in Sunset Park,. She survives him.
Richard had been employed by Team Elmer's as Truck Driver.
Rick was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was involved in the Men's Club at his church. He was also active at Williamsburg Methodist Church. The Williamsburg Welfare Wheeler was Rick's and Paula's passion, he was also a member of The Dusters 4x4 club. Rick was a true outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing and driving his Jeep. Since 1978, he never missed a last day of The Cherry Festival, starting with sitting on the same corner for the parade and ending with the fireworks.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Paula Sue Eyman of Williamsburg, two daughters and a son: Amy E. Petersen of Ocala, Florida, John J. (Amy Aline) Eyman, Kingsley, MI; Kathleen Burroughs, Kalkaska, MI, his former wife, Denise Davis Eyman, two stepdaughters; Candy (Bill) Fisher of Hutchinson, IL and Miranda R. Grossman of Interlochen, MI., 12 grandchildren; three brothers: John (Catherine) Eyman, James (Virginia) Eyman, Thomas Eyman., three sisters: Kathleen "Gabby" (Dave) Thacker and Lynn (Michael) M Rodriguez. Also surviving are many loving family members and good friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Fouch and mother-in-law, Ruth Leis.
A Memorial Service honoring Rick will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Central Untied Methodist Church, 222 Cass St., Traverse City. Pastor Chris Lane will officiate. .
Friends are welcome to visit at the church on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
