Richard (Rick) Edmond Jakee Jr., 64 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, with family by his side. Rick was born on June 28, 1959, to Richard and Bonny Jakee. From a young age, he fell in love with the outdoors and could often be seen enjoying nature whenever the opportunity arose.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons, Matthew and Adam. And his Uncle tom. Especially when deer season came every year. He also enjoyed hunting turkeys every spring. He had a big passion for gardening, which he enjoyed doing with his good friend patty, along with going and looking for Petoskey stones. He also enjoyed playing corn hole every summer with his good friend George Hillier. He also enjoyed foraging for morel mushrooms every spring.

The holiday seasons were particularly special to rick, as he loved spending them with family and friends. Rick especially treasured his role as a grandfather and took immense pride in being a "Grandpa" by his beloved granddaughter (Elissa)

Rick is survived by: His father Richard Edmond Jakee Sr, His sons, Adam (sara) Jakee, Ricky Selby and granddaughters, Elissa Jakee, Kaylee Hiltwein and Camrick Selby

Rick is preceded in death by: His Mother Bonny June Jakee, His brother Randy Jakee and his son Matthew Lee Jakee.
