Richard Earl Mericle, 77, of Interlochen passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his home with his loving wife at his side.
Richard was born on February 22, 1945 in Ann Arbor, MI to the late Raymond and Erma (Girbach) Mericle. He married Carolyn Jean Pawlowicz on September 5, 1970 in Ann Arbor. Together they shared over 52 wonderful years of marriage together.
Richard worked for the University of Michigan as a talented Carpenter. He fixed many University Homes over the years and proudly kept them in the best most authentic shape as possible. After his retirement in 1999 he fulfilled his lifelong goal and happily moved North to Torch Lake with Carolyn. In 2016 they moved to Interlochen and made many wonderful friends.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing especially for small mouth bass and being outdoors in nature. Fondly, Richard will be remembered for his skilled carpentry work and love for his wife. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
Richard is survived by his wife Carolyn of 52 loving years, his sister Cheryl Roberts, sister-in-law Pamela (Kenneth) Hopkins, special family members, Billy, Mary Beth, Andrew, Lauren, and Kathy Krzisnik and many other cousins and friends.
