TRAVERSE CITY — Richard T. "Rich" Nunemaker Jr., 56, of Lake Ann, died Monday afternoon, March 12, 2012, from an apparent heart attack, while playing racquetball at the Grand Traverse Athletic Club.Born Feb. 3, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Richard T. and Mary (Rider) Nunemaker. On March 8, 1999, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, he married the former Connie L. Trumble.A resident of Traverse City since 1997, Rich was employed by the Ace Hardware Corporation, serving as their Northern Michigan Regional Manager.He was a staunch Michigan State basketball fan and was fiercely competitive in all walks of his life, whether it was playing racquetball or bass fishing.Rich enjoyed the time he spent with his family and relished the support he extended to his children while playing various sporting games.He is survived by his loving and caring family; wife, Connie L. Nunemaker, of Lake Ann; children, Stephanie Nunemaker (24), of Kalamazoo, Timothy Harding (23), of Lake Ann, Kimberly Nunemaker (22), of Kalamazoo, Erika Bodzianowski (19), of Kalamazoo, Emily Nunemaker (13), of Lake Ann, and Richard T. Nunemaker (12), of Lake Ann; granddaughter, Emma Claire Bodzianowski; sister, Rhonda (Paul) Heikkenen, and their children, Jason and Heather, all of Hudson, Wis. The Nunemaker family will receive friends at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home today, March 15, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Bay Pointe Community Church, 6880 Secor Road, Traverse City, MI 49684, on Friday, March 16, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
