Richard Lee Whipp

Richard "Rich" Lee Whipp, 74, of Traverse City passed away on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 at Munson Medical Center. Rich was born on March 13, 1945 in Traverse City to the late Robert and Christina (Fasel) Whipp. He had been employed as a store manager and driver for Thirlby Automotive, retiring in 2016, after over 45 years of service. Rich was an avid golfer, he made three holes in one over his lifetime. He also enjoyed NASCAR and supporting his favorite driver #3 Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Above all, Rich loved being outside, spending time with his family, deer hunting or just relaxing on the family property along the Boardman River. He will be remembered fondly for his love of family and his strong work ethic.

Rich is survived by two sons; Shane Whipp and Chad (Nicole) Whipp. His companion; Dawn, and grandchildren; Tejah, Catrina, Robert, Cash, and Max. Also surviving are four sisters and a brother, Sandra Kay Whipp, Bonnie (Delton) Hendges, Michael (Mary) Whipp, Tina Brown and Tammy (Terry) Rickerd.
