Richard "Dick" William Wiley, 85, of Traverse City passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 in Traverse City.
Richard was born on April 1, 1938 in Lansing, MI to the late William and Beatrice (Klein) Wiley. He married Patricia Jean Gates on June 24, 1982 also in Lansing, MI.
Honorably Richard served our Country in the United States Marine Corps. After his return from the Service he went to work for John Bean Factory in Lansing, MI. After moving to Traverse City he worked for Traverse Repro and then opened his business repairing Lasers and Transits. He was a hard worker and worked well into his 80's.
In his spare time he enjoyed yard work and gardening. He was a proud Elk Life Member and served as a Tiller for many years. Richard's hard work and love for his family will be forever remembered.
Richard is survived by his wife Patricia of almost 41 years, his children Heather (William) Frarey, Step-Children that he thought of as his own, Todd (Karen) Gates, Kara Mattis, Timothy (Ranee) Gates, grandchildren Tiffany, Christian, Corey, Taylor (Samantha), Kaylee (John), Trevor (Aimee), Makenzie, Brody, and Brayden, 6 great grandchildren, his brother Douglas Wiley, and many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice House of Traverse City.
