Rita N. Jaroma, 91, of Cedar died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.
Rita was born on Sunday, June 08, 1924 to the late Michael and Veronica (Cyrowski) Kaminski in Detroit. She married Henry Jaroma on Saturday, February 15, 1947 in Detroit.
Rita had been a computer operator and data entry clerk for various companies throughout her life, prior to retirement. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cedar. Rita loved to sew, knit and enjoyed watching deer from the windows of the home that she and Hank built. She especially enjoyed spending time with her siblings.
She is survived by her son Thomas and his wife Carlene "Carrie" Jaroma of Traverse City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on February 14, 2006, her parents and her siblings, Dorothy Bayma, Beatrice Pasierb, Helen Nowinski, Theresa Forbush, Connie Kaminski, Margaret Jaroma, Eleanor Sabin, Christine Lawicki, Flora Kaminski, Thomas Kaminski, Ervin Kaminski and Robert Kaminski. She also appreciated her dear friends Ben, Ginger and Beatrice Winowicki.
The family especially would like to thank the Grand Traverse Pavilions Aspen staff for the wonderful and loving care they provided Rita.
Visitation for Rita will take place at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Sunday, June 21 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, The Rev. Father Donald Libby will preside. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar.
