Rita Helen Schopieray, 93, of Traverse City passed away April 9, 2022 at Munson Medical Center.
Rita was born on April 14, 1928 in Traverse City to the late Theodore and Alice (Courtade) Lautner. She married Edmund P. Schopieray on May 14, 1949 in Traverse City. Together they lovingly raised five wonderful children.
Surviving Rita is her husband of almost 73 wonderful years, children, LeRoy (Deborah) Schopieray, Russell (Joan) Schopieray, Linda (Max) Thompson, William (Angela) Schopieray, Gerald (Sheila) Schopieray, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Mass has taken place at 11am on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with a visitation held one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mass Intentions or Carmelite Monastery. Graveside services will take place Wednesday, April 13th at 10am at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
