Robert Edward Duvernoy

Robert Edward Duvernoy, 89, passed away on Mach 1, 2013 at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on August 22, 1923 in Jackson Heights, New York, to the late George and Suzanne (Bevier) Duvernoy.
He is a veteran of World War II, where he served in the European Theatre. Robert was a proud alumni of Syracuse University. Among his other jobs, he especially enjoyed preparing taxes; it was his favorite time of the year.
On October 16, 1948 Robert married his "dream girl" Joan Schramp and together they lived until "death do us part", 58 years later. They lived and raised their family in Rockland County, NY. Robert lived out his years in the Traverse City area where he was a lovable curmudgeon to many who knew him. He was simply loving to every animal he knew.
Robert is survived by a son and two daughters; Roger (Ricki Stofsky) Duvernoy, Keira (Bob) Duvernoy and Lynne Duvernoy. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Lindsay Duvernoy and Gabriel Braveheart.
Burial will take place in St. Anthony Cemetery in Nanuet, NY. Private family services will be held this summer.
