Mr. Robert Lewis Haywood

Robert "Bob" Lewis Haywood, 81, died peacefully at home on June 23, 2012, surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 23, 1930 in Empire Township, the son of George and Mary (Fortine) Haywood. In December of 1954, he married Nancy Lautner.

Bob served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and he was a lifetime member of Cherryland VFW Post 2780.

Bob had worked as a long haul trucker and with Long Lake Gravel Service before becoming a full-time dairy farmer. He retired in 1995.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, his children, R. Paul (Tammy), Valerie (Warren) Banaszewski, Penny (Rick) Rosendall, Vickie (Ray) Flowers; grandchildren, Bob (Kate), Rachel (Tom), Nicki, Andrew, Jacob, Randy, Richard, Emalyn, Shawna (Steven), Danielle (Kreg), Ally and Michael and his great grandchildren, Raylee, Charlie, Nora, Olivia and Baby Wager, his sister, Jane (Bob) Boomer and his sisters- in- law Arlene and Carol and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his grandson, R.J. Flowers and his siblings, Bertha, Bill, Marie, Jack and Leo.

Visitation will take place today, Monday, June 25 from 2 until 4 and 5 until 8 p.m. at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor John Clark officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
