Robert Charles Merrick

Robert Charles Merrick78, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2017 at Munson Hospice House after a long battle with Cancer. Robert was born on Sept. 6, 1938 in Chicago, IL to his parents the late August and Florence (Wurglitsch) Merrick.

He married the love of his life Patricia Horne on August 8, 1964 in Chicago and the couple had one daughter together.

Robert relocated to Traverse City in 1978 and was employed as a sales representative for Cone Drive until retiring in 2002. He was one of the founding members of the Traverse City Jaycees Club

Robert was a devoted father and father in-law who loved his family. He was a great story teller and enjoyed playing golf, baseball and especially fishing when ever possible.

Robert is survived by his daughter, June Palumbo and son in-law, Anthony Palumbo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, June Mills (2011).

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a time of sharing held at 6:30 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
